Aftercare

A tattoo is only half done when you leave the chair — the rest is how you heal it. Follow this and your piece will look as good in ten years as it does today.

First 24 hours

Leave the wrap on for the time your artist told you (usually 2–24 hours). Wash your hands before touching the tattoo, then clean it gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap. Pat dry — never rub.

Days 2–14: clean & moisturise

Wash twice a day and apply a thin layer of the aftercare balm we give you. Don't pick scabs or scratch — itching is normal, slapping is allowed, scratching is not.

Keep it out of the sun

No direct sun, tanning beds, swimming pools, saunas or the ocean for at least 2–3 weeks. Once healed, SPF 50 on the tattoo keeps it sharp for years.

Healing timeline

Surface healing takes 2–3 weeks; deeper layers take up to 3 months. Fine line and colour pieces may need a free touch-up — book it within 3 months and it's on us.

When to call us (or a doctor)

Some redness and swelling is normal for the first few days. If you see spreading redness, pus, red streaks, fever or the area feels hot after day three, contact us and see a doctor. We'd rather you call about nothing than wait on something.
